- Understand the Truth Tag
Yes. The gold in a Swarnishq piece is declared as 24K pure gold, and the exact declared 24K gold weight is printed on the Truth Tag that comes with the piece and repeated on your invoice.
What is different is that we also tell you the rest. Every piece declares three separate numbers — declared 24K pure gold, other / alloy weight, and gross weight — so you know precisely how much of what you are holding is gold.
The declared gold component is intended and declared as 24K pure gold and may be independently assessed through appropriate refining / testing methods.
- See a sample Truth Tag
The Truth Tag is the physical tag that travels with every Swarnishq piece. It states, in writing, the three weights that describe the piece and the identity that belongs to it alone.
- Declared 24K Pure Gold — the gold content, declared to three decimals.
- Other / Alloy Weight — everything that is not the declared gold.
- Gross Weight — the two added together; the weight of the whole piece.
- Product ID and Design No. — this piece, not this design in general.
A sample tag reads:
Swarnishq Truth TagExample - Declared 24K Pure Gold
- 3.210 g
- Other / Alloy Weight
- 1.190 g
- Gross Weight
- 4.400 g
- Product ID
- MVGS3235678
3.210 g + 1.190 g = 4.400 g. Never assume gross weight equals gold weight. Never assume gross weight equals gold weight.
- Understand the Truth Tag
- Declared 24K Pure Gold is the gold. It is the only figure our buyback promise is measured against.
- Other / Alloy Weight is everything else in the piece — the engineered structure and components that give it form and strength. It is not gold and is never valued as gold.
- Gross Weight is simply the two added together. It is what the piece weighs on a scale, and nothing more.
Worked example:
Swarnishq Truth TagExample - Declared 24K Pure Gold
- 8.216 g
- Other / Alloy Weight
- 11.784 g
- Gross Weight
- 20.000 g
8.216 g + 11.784 g = 20.000 g. Never assume gross weight equals gold weight. Never assume gross weight equals gold weight.
Gross weight is the weight of the entire piece. Gold weight is the part of it that is gold. In conventional jewellery the two are often quoted loosely, or only the gross weight is given — which tells you nothing about how much gold you have bought.
We declare both, separately, on every piece and on every invoice, so the question never has to be asked.
Never assume gross weight equals gold weight.
- Care guide
Gold does not rust. What dulls jewellery is almost always what settles on it — perfume, cosmetics, hair product, sweat, chlorine, cleaning chemicals and the residue they leave behind.
Put jewellery on last, take it off before anything wet or chemical, wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing, and store it in a cool dry place. That is most of the job.
- Everyday care habits
Yes — that is rather the point. A lighter precious-metal load is exactly what makes a piece easy to wear to work, to dinner and back again, instead of leaving it in a locker for three occasions a year.
Treat it as fine jewellery, not as armour: take it off for sport, swimming, sleep and household chores, and it will look after itself.
